Members of Special Support Unit attended “Understanding Terrorism” Lecture

On 24 July 2013, Vlado Azinović, PhD, Professor from the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University in Sarajevo, held a lecture titled “Understanding Terrorism” at the Special Support Unit base, attended by members of the Unit.
The lecture covered areas referring to the objective threat posed by terrorism as the highest direct security risk of today, types of terrorism in the future and rational definition of an efficient anti-terrorism strategy.

“This lecture is a continuation of a very successful cooperation between the State Investigation and Protection Agency and Department of Security and Peace Studies at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University in Sarajevo. The knowledge acquired will be used in the future work of the Agency’s members in fighting terrorism”, said Mr Mirsad Vilić, the Commander of the Special Support Unit.
The purpose of the lecture was to point out the phenomenon of terrorism from an academic point of view and allow its understanding.
