Meeting with UNODC Representatives held at SIPA

 On 11 April 2013, a working meeting was held at the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) between Heads of competent departments for combating trafficking in narcotics from police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mr Benjamin Crabtree, representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime from Vienna.

Representatives from the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies BH, Border Police, Federal Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Interior of Republic of Srpska and Brčko District Police attended the meeting, in addition to the representatives from SIPA.

Mr Anđelko Hrgić, Assistant Director of SIPA, greeted the participants. On behalf of the Director and on his own behalf, he welcomed Mr Benjamin Crabtree (UNODC) and other participants and wished them a successful working meeting.

 

The purpose of this meeting was the introduction of trends and narcotics smuggling routes in the region. The representatives from the police agencies in BH presented their past successful activities in combating this type of crime in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was concluded that the visit, particularly the part referring to the exchange of information in this area, had been exceptionally useful for all the participants of the meeting.

Mr Benjamin Crabtree expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the agencies for the activities they had presented and successful cooperation.
