LUTKA 2 - SIPA Deprived of Liberty a Member of Naser Keljmendi’s Criminal Group

Acting by the orders of the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H and Court of B&H and as a follow-up of an intensive investigation carried out under the case codenamed “Lutka 2“, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) deprived of liberty an Austrian citizen with initials FS (1955) in the area of Sarajevo.

FS was deprived of liberty due to grounds for suspicion that as a member of an organised criminal group, led by Naser Keljmendi, he was involved in the transfer of heroin from Turkey to Western European countries thus committing the criminal offense under Article 250 of the CC B&H "Organised crime" in conjunction with the criminal offense under Article 195 of the CC B&H "Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs."

The arrested individual was for several years a target of police investigations conducted in the region and beyond particularly by the Austrian police authorities. An intensive cooperation was established with EULEX and Austrian police authorities in the course of the investigation.

Searches of residential facilities and vehicles used by the arrested individual were conducted to recover items that may be used as evidence in further proceedings.

FS will be brought to the premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency for criminal processing after which he together with the report on the perpetrated criminal offence and perpetrators will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for further procedure.

The activities under the case codenamed „Lutka 2“ will be continued in the following period for the purpose of resolving a number of murders, robberies, extortions and other serious criminal offences that by their intensity and manner of execution seriously undermined the security of B&H citizens. Moreover, it can be expected that some other criminal offences will be resolved in the coming period of which the public will be informed.
