Today, 31.10.2011, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) discovered and seized a large quantity of weapons and mine-explosive devices and apprehended four persons as a part of an extensive operation carried out by the orders of the B&H Prosecutor's Office and District Court of Doboj.
Search of nine locations resulted in a discovery and seizure of six 82 mm mortars, 22 hand grenades, 33 hand grenade launchers of 66 mm calibre (“zolje”), seven automatic rifles, some quantity of hunting weapons, 5 kg of explosive, significant number of percussion caps, 5 modified mobile telephones for initiation of explosive devices, magazines for automatic arms, ammunition of different calibre, mobile phones, equipment for production of pirated image recording media.
After criminal processing in SIPA premises, the apprehended persons together with the report on the offence committed under the Article 250 of the B&H CC (Organised Crime), and in connection with the Article 193 of the B&H CC (Unauthorised Trade in Weapons and Military Equipment) will be handed over to the B&H Prosecutor's Office for further processing.
This operation is a follow-up of the several month lasting intensive activities carried out by the SIPA police officials with the aim of discovery of illegal weapons.
The State Investigation and Protection Agency has thanked the B&H Prosecutor's Office and the District Court of Doboj as well as all other law enforcement agencies from B&H who participated in the above operation and particularly partner police agencies form the Republic of Serbia.
