Joint Operation Code Name „ROBA“Conduct

Today, 22.6.2012 – By orders of the B&H Prosecutor's Office and in accordance with the 2008-2012 National Action plan for Prevention of Human Trafficking in B&H, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and Brcko District Police, supported by the Intelligence-Security Agency and Tuzla Canton Ministry of Interior, conducted a police operation codenamed „ROBA“.
In this joint operation several teams with more than one hundred police officers on the ground participated, and a number of investigative measures and actions were undertaken including arrests and searches, with the aim of identifying, detecting and prosecuting persons who were brought in connection with criminal offences related to human trafficking for sexual exploitation. The victims of the mentioned criminal offence included female minors from B&H as well.
The operation is a continuation of the activities of law enforcement agencies in B&H that operate within the Task Force to combat human trafficking, with the aim of preventing and punishing the perpetrators of these crimes.
In order to protect the investigation, we are not able to give more information, and we ask the media for understanding. Additional information will be presented to the media on Monday at a press conference to be organized at the Police of B&H Brcko District.
