Joint Investigation Team Takes Investigative Actions in the Case of Terrorist Attack in Zvornik

Following the Zvornik police station terrorist attack yesterday (27/04/2015), a joint investigation team composed of police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior was set up. The investigative team was established in accordance with the instructions of the acting Prosecutor of BH Prosecutor’s Office. The team started the crime scene investigation last night and finished it early this morning.

Acting upon orders of the Court B&H and Prosecutor’s Office B&H, members of the joint investigative team searched buildings in two locations in the area of Zvornik Municipality aimed at detecting and seizing items that may be brought into connection with the criminal offence committed under Article 201 of the CC B&H “Terrorism”.

The crime scene investigation and searches resulted in detection and seizure of certain items and collection of clues that may serve as evidence in further proceedings and to shed light on this crime.

The members of the joint investigative team deprived the individual identified by initials AFH of liberty this morning. This individual was brought to SIPA Tuzla Regional Office for criminal processing, after which he/she will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings. At the same time, a large number of individuals were questioned as witnesses.

The joint investigative team is continuing the activities to shed light on this event and document the criminal offence.
