Italian Ambassador Visited SIPA

On 2 December 2013, H.E. Ruggero Corrias, the Italian Ambassador, visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and met with Goran Zubac, Director of SIPA.
Since this was the first official visit of the Ambassador Corrias to SIPA, all work aspects of the Agency, its competences, organisational structure and role within the security system of BH were discussed at the meeting.
The Director Zubac presented important details related to the successful operation of SIPA, with particular emphasis on recent operations in the fight against organised crime and corruption. He pointed out that the priorities of SIPA were fight against terrorism, organised crime, financial crime and corruption, as well as cooperation with partner agencies in the country and the region.
The Ambassador Corrias pointed out that the cooperation with SIPA so far was very successful and it would be improved in the following year. He said that SIPA had his support and that the Italian Embassy would remain SIPA’s partner in the fight against crime and its overall capacity building.
