In Operation “Ozren” Members of SIPA Arrested One Individual for War Crimes

On 11 July 2013, in the framework of the case code-named “Ozren”, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested one individual in the area of Tešanj due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 173, Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, “War Crimes Against Civilians”, in conjunction with the Article 180, Paragraph (1) of the same Code.
Previously, SIPA had submitted a report on the committed criminal offence and perpetrator against this individual to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to grounds for suspicion of taking part in illegal detention of men, Serbian civilians, in the area of Tešanj municipality, who had lived in the settlements of Rosulje, Mekiš, Medakovo and Raduša, and treated them inhumanly. We would like to point out that some individuals investigated within the “Ozren” case are also linked to the operation code-named “Tešanj”, in the framework of which members of SIPA found substantial amounts of arms, and which is still ongoing.
The arrested individual was brought to the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), where criminal processing is being performed, whereupon he will be handed over for further processing to the Prosecutor’s Office BH.
Members of SIPA continue operations within the cases of “Ozren” and “Tešanj”.
