In Operation “Kazanova” SIPA Arrested Nine Individuals for International Trafficking in Narcotics

On 24 March 2014, acting upon orders by the Prosecutor’s Office BH and Court BH, within “Kazanova” operation, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), arrested nine individuals and searched buildings at 10 locations in Mostar, Jablanica, Nevesinje and Trebinje. These activities were carried out with the assistance from members of the Border Police BH, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Ministry of Interior and Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior.

In the framework of “Kazanova” operation, the individuals Đ.T., D.Š., S.K., E.B., E.K., V.S., R.P., D.D., and Š.Ć were arrested due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in Article 250 of the Criminal Code BH “Organised Crime”, in conjunction with the criminal offence set out in Article 195 of CC BH “Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs”.

The following items that can be used as evidence in further proceedings were found and seized: several mobile telephones and SIM cards, an amount of money, small quantity of substance resembling narcotic drug “skunk”, weapons and other items.

The arrested individuals were brought to the official premises of the State Investigation and protection Agency (SIPA), Mostar Regional Office, where they were criminally processed, whereupon within legislative deadline they will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office BH for further proceedings.

Prior to this operation, a several months long investigation was carried out, in the framework of which, in cooperation with police authorities of the Republic of Croatia, a quantity of “skunk” narcotic drug was seized and international trafficking in narcotics from Montenegro to BH and Croatia was registered.
