On 16 April 2014, acting upon orders by the Tuzla Canton Court and Prosecutor’s Office, members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), within the operation code-named “Brava II”, arrested five individuals in Tuzla Canton for abuse of official position.

The individuals H.H., R.M., N.S., F.B. and A.S. were arrested due to grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in Article 383 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Abuse of Office or Official Authority”, with reference to activities of some of the organisational units. Some of the arrested individuals hold or they held senior positions at the Tuzla Correctional Facility.

Buildings at several locations in Tuzla Canton and premises of the Tuzla Correctional Facility were searched during this operation. Mobile telephones, SIM cards, cash in various currencies, laptops, USBs, luxury passenger motor vehicle, fire arms, business documents and other items that could be used as evidence in further procedure were found and seized.

The arrested individuals were brought to the official premises of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, Tuzla Regional Office, where they were criminally processed, whereupon they were handed over to the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor’s Office for further procedure.
