In “Marker 4” Operation SIPA Apprehended Five Individuals for Organised Crime

Istočno Sarajevo, 12 February, 2015 Yesterday (11/2/2015) – Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) apprehended five individuals and searched buildings at seven locations in the area of Modriča, Šamac, Doboj and Kostajnica under the Operation “Marker 4”. The activities were carried out upon orders of the District Court of Banja Luka and Special Prosecutor’s Office of Republika Srpska and in cooperation with police officials of the Republika Srpska MoI.
The individuals identified by initials MG (1968), DM (1980), BĐ (1963), DO (1967) and ŽĐ (1973) were deprived of liberty due to grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence of organised crime in conjunction with illicit production and trafficking in narcotic drugs and criminal offence of illicit production and trafficking in weapons and explosives. Four kilograms of herbal substance resembling marihuana, 16 kilograms of explosive (military and plastic), several types of explosive substances, ammunition of various calibres, 12 detonators, two automatic rifles, one semi-automatic rifle, eight hunting rifles, four pistols and other items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings were seized in the course of the investigation.
Police officials of SIPA in cooperation with the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Republika Srpska conducted months-long complex investigation having resulted in establishing facts and collecting evidence about criminal activities of the suspects.
The apprehended individuals were brought to SIPA Banja Luka Regional Office last night for criminal processing, after which they were handed over to the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Republika Srpska for further proceedings.
