ICITAP Director Visited SIPA

Today (15/1/2016), Director of ICITAP in B&H Charles W. Bennett visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and met with SIPA Director Perica Stanić. The meeting was also attended by ICITAP Advisor for SIPA Robert Mulligan.

As this was the first visit of the ICITAP Director to SIPA since Perica Stanić appointment as director, they discussed the priorities and future plans of SIPA as well as cooperation with ICITAP.

SIPA Director said he was aware that the ICITAP has been significant support to SIPA in recent years, especially in strengthening its material, technical and human capacity, which, among other things, enabled SIPA investigators to receive the world's best trainings and exchange best practices in different areas. All these contributed to strengthening the overall capacity of SIPA and effective fight against the most complex types of crime.

The meeting also discussed further strengthening of the SIPA capacity and current security challenges. In this context, they discussed the need for specialized trainings for SIPA investigators, aimed at improvement of their performance.

Bennett said that ICITAP is at disposal to SIPA for any kind of assistance and support for more efficient countering of all current security challenges. He congratulated the SIPA Director on his appointment and wished him success in his future work.

SIPA Director thanked ICITAP and the US Government for their contribution to the development of SIPA and expressed his confidence that the successful cooperation would be continued.
