Friday, November 12, 2010, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) discovered a natural hole in Kalinovik near Božanovići village containing at a depth of 15 meters, a large amount of weapons, mine-explosive devices and military equipment.

Due to inaccessibility of the terrain, members of the Alpine team of the SIPA Special Support Unit were engaged in searching the hole where a large amount of hand grenades, military rifles, grenade launcher has been hidden for a long time period.

According to operational information, the local population threw away the weapons after the end of the war in B&H.

Considering a danger stemming from getting the weapons out and the fact that access to the hole is almost impossible without the alpine equipment, the Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior has been informed about all details, and with the assistance of the RS Civil Protection team, it will undertake necessary measures in order to safely destroy the weapons and military equipment.

Discovering of the weapons containing hole is a result of an intensive and continuous operational involvement of the SIPA police officials responsible for detection of illegal storage of weapons.
