Follow-up “Oskar” Operation: SIPA Apprehended VD for Illicit Drug Trafficking

This morning (4/2/2015) – Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) in the follow-up of Oskar Operation apprehended the individual identified by initials VD (1986) in the area of Sarajevo due to grounded suspicion of having committed the criminal offence of organised crime, in conjunction with the criminal offence of illicit trafficking in drugs. A residential building and vehicle used by the apprehended individual was searched within the operation. The activities were carried out upon orders of the Court B&H and Prosecutor’s Office B&H.

SIPA police officials have carried out months-long investigation resulting in fact-finding and obtaining evidence about criminal activity of the suspects. Very important cooperation in this case was established with the Intelligence Security Agency B&H.

Previously, within the Oskar case, 15 individuals were apprehended in the territory of B&H and Republic of Serbia, while the recent deprivations of liberty were conducted on 11/12/2014 when SIPA apprehended eight individuals and searched buildings in ten locations. Over three kilograms of heroin were seized.

The apprehended individual is brought to SIPA premises for criminal processing, after which he/she along with the report on criminal offence and perpetrators will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings.
