Excellent Results of SIPA Continued in 2013

On 22 April 2013, the SIPA Management Board meeting was held at the head offices of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, whereby the focus was on results from the first quarter of 2013. In addition to Mr Goran Zubac, the Director of SIPA, Heads of SIPA’s organisational units also attended the meeting, as well as representatives from ICITAP. A general evaluation was that the results from the first quarter of 2013 were in line with the last year’s, and even better than the last year’s in the segment of operational activities of SIPA’s competent organisational units. In this period, 61 reports on committed criminal offences and perpetrators, against 209 individuals, including 176 physical persons, 22 legal persons and 11 unidentified persons, were submitted to the competent Prosecutor’s Offices.The Director congratulated the Heads of organisational units on the results achieved in this period and announced that successful results would be continued. Particular emphasis will be on combating terrorism, organised crime, economic crime and corruption, which are the priorities of the Agency’s work.The Director Zubac announced the formation of a working group to develop necessary requirements for the establishment of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Centre, with headquarters within the future building of the Special Support Unit.
 

At the meeting of the Management Board, the Director of SIPA handed the embossed emblem of the State Investigation and Protection Agency, the Agency’s highest recognition, and the Certificate of Appreciation to Mr James Tillman, Director of ICITAP, for ICITAP’s substantial assistance to SIPA in the development of capacities since it had been founded. Mr Tillman pointed out that he had faith in SIPA and would continue supporting SIPA’s efforts in combating all types of crime and maintaining its reputation in the area of security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

The Director Zubac concluded that in this reporting period SIPA achieved very good results in carrying out activities and tasks from its competence as the leading police agency in BH. He also said that SIPA would continue in this direction with the aim of creating a safe environment for all BH citizens.
