Additional Information: Operation „List 1“

During the Search, More Than 10 Tons of Tobacco Discovered and Temporarily Forfeited

Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and members of the B&H Indirect Taxation Authority initiated, early this morning (14/10/2015), operation codenamed "List 1" for illicit trafficking of tobacco, which is carried out in cooperation with police officials of the Tuzla Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Brcko District Police.

Acting on the orders of the B&H Court and Prosecutor's Office, premises in six locations in the area of Tuzla, Bijeljina, Srebrenik, Gradačac, Brčko, Sarajevo and East Sarajevo municipalities, have been searched due to the grounds for suspicion of the criminal offence “Organized Crime” in conjunction with criminal offence “Illicit Trafficking of Excise Products” being committed.

During the search, the following items were discovered and temporarily forfeited: approximately 10 tons of leaf tobacco prepared for further processing, more than 1000 kilograms of tobacco cut down, two machines for cutting tobacco, a certain amount of money, mobile phones, SIM cards and other items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings.

In the operation so far six individuals, identified by initials SK, NK, NR, MM, VP and DžZ, were apprehended. The apprehended persons will be brought to the SIPA Regional Office Tuzla premises for criminal investigation. Thereafter, the persons will be handed over to the B&H Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings. Four individuals were called in the official premises of SIPA, where they will be questioned as suspects.
