Deputy US Ambassador Visited SIPA

On 31 May 2013, H.E. Nicholas Hill, Deputy US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and held a meeting with Mr Goran Zubac, the Director of the Agency. Representatives from ICITAP and Security Attaché from the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina also attended the meeting. This was the first official visit of the Deputy US Ambassador to SIPA. Thereby, the Director Zubac briefly presented all relevant details about successful operation of the Agency and particularly emphasised the latest activities in combating organised crime and corruption. Mr Zubac said the Agency’s priorities were combating terrorism, organised crime, financial crime and corruption, as well cooperation with partner agencies in the country and region. The establishment of the Regional Anti-Terrorism Centre within the State Investigation and Protection Agency for the territory of the Balkans and beyond was also discussed at the meeting.

The Director of SIPA particularly pointed out exceptional cooperation with the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and ICITAP and noted that we all had the same mission and that SIPA would not be what it is today without the support from the US Embassy.
H.E. Nicholas Hill, Deputy Ambassador, said that the US Embassy had excellent relationship with SIPA and pointed out that they were impressed by its latest operations. He especially congratulated on the anti-corruption efforts of the Agency.
