On 22 January 2014, Lauren Schlag, Head of the Regional Office of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for South-East Europe, and her staff member visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency.

Goran Zubac, Director of SIPA, held a meeting with the DEA representatives, attended also by Anđelko Hrgić, Assistant Director of SIPA and representatives of the US Embassy in BH.

Since this was the first official visit by the DEA representatives, all operational aspects of the Agency, its powers and role in the BH security system, as well as cooperation modalities between the partner Agencies in fighting abuse and illicit trafficking in narcotics, were discussed at the meeting.

It was concluded that the cooperation between the Agencies had been very successful and it would be improved in the future.
