Last night (01/20/2016), police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) apprehended individual identified by initials MK (1986) from Velika Kladusa, after being transferred from Turkey. The mentioned individual was apprehended by order of the B&H Prosecutor's Office at the border crossing "International Airport Sarajevo".

The individual identified by initials MK was apprehended due to the grounds for suspicion of having committed criminal offence under Article 202d, paragraph (2) of the B&H CC, regarding affiliation with a terrorist group, in conjunction with Article 201 of the B&H CC „Terrorism“ and the criminal offence under Article 162b of the B&H CC, paragraph (2) "Unlawful Forming and Joining Paramilitary or Para-police Formations". The mentioned individual is suspected of staying in the Syrian front, from November 2014 to June 2015, where he participated in the armed conflict on the side of ISIL.

Very good police cooperation was achieved, both at national and international level, while working on this case. The cooperation resulted in transferring the mentioned individual from Turkey, after being there for a certain period of time in custody.

The apprehended individual was brought to the SIPA premises for criminal investigation. His further status will be decided upon in accordance with the instructions of the competent prosecutor.
