Crimestoppers in May: 302 Calls and 39 Useful Information

In May 2015, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials registered 302 calls to the Crimestoppers hotline.

In this period, citizens submitted 39 useful information about planned or committed criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made. The majority of information referred to the criminal offences of Terrorism (3), Abuse of Official Position or Authority (2), other criminal offences (2) and Terrorism Financing (1).

Out of the total number of useful information, 39 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to relevant police authorities in BH and SIPA acted upon nine information. 

Within this reporting period, 20 pieces of feedback were received from the relevant police authorities related to the information previously submitted via the Crimestoppers. Based on this information, one report on criminal offences and perpetrators was submitted to the competent Prosecutor’s Offices.

In addition, SIPA police officials gave 117 recommendations to the citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free Crimestoppers telephone number - 080 020 505.
