“Crime-Stoppers” in September: 354 Calls and 89 Useful Information

In September 2013, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials registered 354 calls to the „Crime-Stoppers“ hotline, out of which 124 were assessed as not serious.

In the mentioned period, citizens submitted 89 useful information about planned or committed criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.

The majority of information was related to criminal offences of illicit trafficking in narcotics (14) and other criminal offences(10).

Out of the total number of useful information, 89 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to competent police authorities in B&H, and 13 information were related to criminal offences from SIPA’s competence.

Within the reporting period, 77 pieces of feedback were received from the competent police authorities in relation to the earlier information received through crime-stoppers hotline, based on which it was determined that the competent Prosecutor’s Offices received 2 reports on committed criminal offence and perpetrators, while 8 reports were submitted for evaluation.

In addition, SIPA’s police officials gave 141 recommendations to the citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free “Crime-Stoppers” telephone number - 080 020 505.
