Crime-Stoppers in November: 303 Calls and 72 Useful Information Received

In November 2013, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials registered 303 calls to the Crime-Stoppers hotline, out of which 73 were assessed as not serious.

In this period, citizens submitted 72 useful information on planned or committed criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.

The majority of information referred to the criminal offences of abuse of office or authority (12), illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs (8) and illicit trafficking in arms, military equipment and dual use products (8).

Out of the total number of useful information, 72 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to competent police authorities in BH and SIPA acted upon two information.

Within this reporting period, 49 pieces of feedback were received from the competent police authorities related to the information previously submitted via the Crime-Stoppers. Based on these information, it was determined that the competent Prosecutor’s Offices received one report on a committed criminal offence and perpetrators, and seven reports were submitted for evaluation.

In addition, SIPA’s police officials gave 158 recommendations to the citizens who contacted them via the anonymous and free Crime-Stoppers telephone number - 080 020 505.
