“Crime-Stoppers” in July: 404 Calls and 112 Useful Information

In July 2013, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials registered 404 calls to the „Crime-Stoppers“ hotline, out of which 178 were assessed as not serious.

In the mentioned period, citizens submitted 112 useful information about planned or committed criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.

The majority of information was related to criminal offences of abusing official duties and responsibilities (13), corruption (13) and illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs (11).

Out of the total number of useful information, 112 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to competent police authorities in B&H, and 14 information were related to criminal offences from SIPA’s competence.

Within the reporting period, 73 pieces of feedback were received from the competent police authorities in relation to the earlier information received through crime-stoppers hotline, based on which it was determined that the competent Prosecutor’s Offices received 5 reports on committed criminal offence and perpetrators, while 4 reports were submitted to the relevant Prosecutor’s Offices for evaluation.
