Citizens Assisted in Disrupting International Drug Trafficking Chain

 

Last night, 13.12.2011, thanks to the information received from the citizens, the police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), apprehended in Sarajevo a three-member international criminal group finding about 12 kg of narcotic drugs resembling „skunk“. According to some operational information, the drugs originated from Kosovo and were intended for the Swiss market.
In addition to drugs being packed in 12 parcels, search of the apartment of one of the apprehended persons resulted in discovering a counterfeited banknote of 500 Euros and mobile phones with SIM cards.
One of the apprehended persons is B&H citizen with initials AS (1959), and according to the documents of questionable credibility, the other two persons are citizens of the Republic of Serbia with initials RD (1954) and BG (1965), of which one was previously convicted in the Czech Republic to a 10-year prison sentence because of drug trafficking.
After criminal processing in the SIPA premises, the apprehended persons together with a report on the criminal offence commited under the Article 250 of the B&H Criminal Code (Organised Crime), and in connection with the Article 195 of the B&H Criminal Code (Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs), will be handed over to the B&H Prosecutor’s Office for further processing.
Police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency would like to thank all citizens who, by providing information, helped in disrupting this international drug trafficking chain. The activities on suppression of the illicit drug trade will be continued in the future as well.
