Chiefs of Police Conference in Orlando

Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Mirko Lujić is participating in an International police chiefs conference held in Orlando, Florida, USA from 23 to 30 October, 2010.

During the Conference the Officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina shall participate in meetings, presentations and expert workshops which shall, inter alia, refer to managing police operations, undertaking special investigative techniques, police record keeping and exchange of information, police forensics, communication with the media, citizens and communities, fight against drug abuse, fight against terrorism, definition and implementation of professional police standards as well as all other relevant subjects related to police and prosecutorial work.

During the conference, which involves several hundreds of police officials from around the world, meetings with senior police officials are scheduled. According to the plan the U.S. Vice President, Joseph Biden and the U.S. Attorney General, Eric H. Holder Jr. should address the conference participants.

Also, meetings of the Bosnia and Herzegovina delegation are anticipated with the President of IACP Michael Carroll, representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and officials of the ICITAP project.

The participation of representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the conference was prganised by the ICITAP program of the U.S. Department of Justice situated within the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
