“CD“ Operation – SIPA Arrested a B&H Embassy Employee in Paris

As part of the activities continued in the operation codenamed “CD”, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) deprived an individual of liberty in Sarajevo due to grounded suspicion that he/she, by performing consular duties in the B&H Embassy in Paris, participated in the commission of a number of criminal offences, in a manner that he/she illegally issued travel permits for human trafficking victims. The suspect charged between 500 and 1200 EUR for his/her services.

The individual is suspected of having committed the criminal offence of Abuse of Office or Official Authority, Accepting Gifts and Other Forms of Benefits, Forging of Official Documents, Human Trafficking, etc.

Following criminal processing in SIPA premises, the suspect, together with the report on criminal offences and perpetrators, will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office B&H for further proceedings. 

As a reminderin the framework of the international operation "CD", which started on 06/23/2015, ten individuals were apprehended on suspicion of having committed the criminal offence of Organised Crime in conjunction with criminal offences of Human Trafficking for Labour Exploitation, Money Laundering, Smuggling of People, Giving Gifts and other Forms of Benefits, etc.  Following criminal processing in SIPA premises, these individuals, together with the report on criminal offences and perpetrators, were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office for further proceedings.

The joint investigation team set up within this case continues its activities to shed light on all criminal offences and document criminal activities of the suspects.
