BH Contingent of UNMISS Donated Funds for Assistance to Affected Population in BH

Members of the BH Contingent in the UN Peace Keeping Mission in South Sudan, through the SIPA Union, donated funds for the purchase of basic supplies for flood- affected population in BH.

On 29 May 2014, members of the SIPA Special Support Unit delivered two vans of basic supplies to residents of Doboj and Maglaj, as a contribution from the members of the BH contingent of EU in South Sudan. The donation was delivered to the Red Cross branches in these two Municipalities, which would distribute the supplies further to the most affected residents.

Currently, there are 29 police officials from BH in the Peace Keeping Mission in South Sudan, including members of the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies BH, SIPA, Border Police BH, Republic of Srpska Ministry of Interior, Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Interior, and Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior. Although the situation in South Sudan is very complex due to a crisis and ethnic conflict, members of the BH contingent, who daily operate under difficult circumstances with the local police, found a way to help the population of BH as well.

The participation in Peace Keeping Missions is an international obligation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a contribution to the international peace. Members of the BH contingent in the UNMISS, including 11 members of SIPA, as well as other Missions, contribute to the improvement of our country’s reputation in the world.
