BH and Slovenia: Three Marijuana Cultivation Laboratories Discovered

In an operation initiated on 19 December 2012 in Velika Kladuša and continued on 20 December 2012 in Ljubljana, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and Ljubljana Police Administration apprehended eleven members of an organised criminal group in conjunction with illicit production and international trafficking in narcotics.

In searches of buildings and property used by the apprehended individuals in Velika Kladuša and Ljubljana, three marijuana cultivation laboratories were discovered, as well as a substantial quantity of materials and equipment for this purpose and marijuana stems.

Two out of the three marijuana cultivation laboratories, one of which was at a preparation stage and the other containing a number of cultivated stems, were discovered in Velika Kladuša, in buildings used by nine individuals apprehended in BH (S.K., E.K., Z.K., M.K., A.K., A.F., Đ.P., M.G. and S.Š.). The third equipped laboratory, valued at approximately EUR 14.000, containing 812 stems of marijuana 60-70 cm in height, was discovered by police officials of the Ljubljana Police Administration on 20 December 2012 in Ljubljana and two individuals were arrested.

On 20 December 2012, the individuals arrested in BH were handed over for further processing to the Prosecutor’s Office BH, along with a report on grounds for suspicion of having committed the criminal offence set out in the Article 250 of the Criminal Code BH (Organised Crime) in conjunction with the criminal offence set out in the Article 195 of the CC BH (Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs).

SIPA’s police officials carried out these activities upon the order from the Prosecutor’s Office BH and Court BH. The operation was carried out with the assistance from members of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Interior.
