BH and Serbia: Three Members of Organised Group Apprehended, Drugs Seized

On 9 August 2012, in an action coordinated between the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, three members of an organised group, who had been producing and trafficking in narcotics, were apprehended in the territory of BH and Serbia. In the searches at premises used by the apprehended persons, a considerable quantity of narcotics was found, among other things, as well as a modern laboratory for their production with accompanying equipment.

Members of the Ministry of Interior Serbia in a settlement of Očage, Bogatić Municipality, the Republic of Serbia, apprehended two BH nationals, K.M. from Bijeljina and P.V. from Bratunac, with whom a modern laboratory for narcotics production, 20 kg of “Skunk”, 440 stems of 1m marijuana and circa 300 smaller marijuana stems were found.

At the same time, in the area of Bijeljina, members of SIPA searched a house used by K.M., who was apprehended in Serbia, and they apprehended V.D. from Bijeljina and searched an apartment, accompanying premises and vehicle used by V.D.

During these searches, in the area of Bijeljina, a number of mobile telephones was found and seized, which were used by the suspected individuals, as well as a SIG SP 2009 handgun, 35 pieces oh handgun ammunition, laptop, an amount of money and 1000 seeds resembling the seed of Indian hemp.

SIPA’s police officials also carried out searches in the area of Bratunac and Brčko District BH.

The mentioned activities were initiated in early morning hours after several months of operative work and they were carried out upon the order from the Prosecutor’s Office BH and Court BH, Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Serbia and Court of the Republic of Serbia, in cooperation with the Security-Intelligence Agency.

The members of SIPA were assisted by members of the Public Security Centre Bijeljina and the Police of the Brčko District BH.
