Female police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), members of the Association of “Woman Police Officers Network”, attended meeting of the Association and a two-day seminar held on 3-4 March 2015 at the Police Academy of Federal MoI in Sarajevo. The meeting was attended by around 30 police officials from 15 B&H police agencies who discussed the future activities of the Association.

The two-day seminar on “Domestic Violence” is organized by ICITAP and the Association of "Women Police Officers Network". The seminar covered different topics with emphasis on prevention and multi-sectoral approach to this issue.

To remind, the Association of “Women Police Officers Network" was officially registered at the beginning of 2012 with headquarters in Sarajevo, bringing together police officials from 15 police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, State Investigation and Protection Agency, Border Police , Federal Police Administration, Brčko District Police and 10 Cantonal Ministries of Interior).

The goal of the Association is to promote gender equality and democratic principles in the performance of police duties. Special emphasis is on safeguarding the rights of female police officers, their equal status and increase of the number of women in the police structures particularly in management positions.

In the coming period, SIPA members, fully supported by the SIPA Management, will actively participate in the work of the Association in order to expand its memberships with new SIPA members and to generally improve the integrity and status of female police officers in the law enforcement agencies.
