Strengthening Cooperation in the Fight against Terrorism and Organized Crime

Ambassador of the Republic of France in Charge of Fighting Organized Crime Visited SIPA

Today (03/30/2016), within the framework of the official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador in charge of the fight against organized crime of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of France, Michele Ramis, with the associates, visited the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and met with the Director of SIPA, Perica Stanić.

The meeting focused on the work of SIPA, its competences and the role it plays in the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the current security challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world. The focus was on the fight against terrorism as a global threat, illegal arms trafficking and human trafficking.

Participants of the meeting pointed out that the cooperation between SIPA and the competent authorities of the Republic of France in the past has been very successful, particularly in view of the joint work on the cases, and establishment of the joint investigation team which has successfully implemented operation against human trafficking.

Modalities and directions of future cooperation were specified at the meeting, with emphasis on the timely exchange of intelligence and information of mutual interest, with the aim of successful confronting today's security challenges and strengthening of partnership.
