A Meeting With the Director Perica Stanić

Ambassador of Brazil Visited SIPA

Today (18/01/2016), Ambassador of Brazil to B&H, H.E. Manoel Gomes Pereira, visited State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and met with the Director Perica Stanić.

Given the fact that this was the first visit of the Ambassador of Brazil to SIPA, all aspects of the work of SIPA, its competences, organizational structure and its role in the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed at the meeting. SIPA Director and Ambassador of Brazil discussed the current security challenges in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with emphasis on the fight against terrorism, as a global threat, departures of B&H nationals to foreign battlefields, as well as the efforts that SIPA puts in the fight against all forms of organized crime, particularly financial crime and corruption, which are the main barrier to progress of society and European integration.

The meeting was held with the aim of strengthening and improving cooperation between B&H and Brazil in areas that are within the scope of work of SIPA. Directions and modalities for future cooperation regarding issues of mutual interest were also agreed upon.
