A major police operation, involving all police agencies, is carried out in B&H

Early this morning a police operation named „Svjetlost“(Light), involving the combined forces of all police agencies in BiH, was initiated in the wider area of Tuzla Canton and Brčko District.
The Chief Prosecutor and another two Prosecutors of the BiH Prosecutor's Office are at the scene. The police action involves 600 police officials and several dozens of vehicles and additional equipment from all of the police agencies in BiH.
This operation is carried out pursuant to the acts and orders of the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH, and activities are conducted with the aim of detection and criminal prosecution of persons suspected of committing the following criminal offences:
- Endangering the Territorial Integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- Attack on the Constitutional Order of BiH, and
- Incitement to Ethnic, Racial or Religious Hatred, Discord and Intolerance.
The operational activities within the „Svjetlost“ operation are conducted in the wider area of the Brčko District and Tuzla Canton, in Gornja Maoča, with the aim of detecting objects and traces of the crimes relevant to criminal proceedings.
This operation is the largest joint police action in the post-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina and it involves ISA B&H officials, police officials of State Border Police, Service for Foreigners' Affairs, the State Investigation and Protection Agency, RS Ministry of Interior, the Police of Brčko District, Federation Police Administration, Police Administrations of Cantonal Ministries of Interior in the Federation of BiH, as well as representatives of EUPM in BiH.
The activities are coordinated and managed by the Joint Staff of Police Agencies involved in the operation "Svjetlost", with headquarters in Brčko, and is headed by the Director of the Federation Administration of Police, Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office and Prosecutors of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
The operation is still ongoing therefore the Operational Staff cannot provide more information about it at this time.
Once the operation is completed, the public will be presented with more information.
