685 Calls to Crime-Stoppers in March

In March 2010, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials received 685 calls to the „Crime-Stoppers“ hotline, out of which 221 were assessed as not serious.

Within this period, 64 useful information on committed or planned criminal offences, as well as perpetrators, were received from the citizens, based on which the same number of reports was composed.

The majority of information was related to vehicle-related crime (10), criminal offences of corruption, criminal offences of abuse of official duty (9) and unauthorised possession of weapons or explosive substances (9).

Out of the total number of useful information, 57 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to the competent B&H police authorities and seven information were related to criminal offences from SIPA competence.

Within this period, 84 pieces of feedback were received from the police authorities based on which it was determined that 7 reports on committed criminal offences and perpetrators were forwarded to the competent Prosecutor's Offices, 4 reports were submitted for assessment and one violation report was filed as well.

SIPA police officials gave 400 recommendations to the citizens who called 080 020 505 – „Crime Stoppers“ hotline.
