605 Calls to Crime-Stoppers in April

In April 2010, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials received 605 calls to the „Crime-Stoppers“ hotline, out of which 194 were assessed as not serious.

In the aforementioned time period, 64 useful information on committed or planned criminal offences, and their perpetrators, were submitted, based on which the same number of reports was made.
The majority of the information was related to criminal offences of corruption and abuse of official duty (10), unauthorised sale of narcotic drugs (9), and unauthorised possession of weapons or explosive substances (7).

Out of the total number of useful information, 59 of them, along with the reports were forwarded to competent B&H police authorities for further processing, and five information were related to criminal offences from SIPA competence.

Within the reporting period, 48 pieces of feedback were received from competent police authorities, based on which it was determined that one report on a committed criminal offence and its perpetrators was forwarded to competent Prosecutor's Offices, two reports were submitted for assessment and one violation report was filed as well.

SIPA's police officials gave 347 recommendations to the citizens who called 080 020 505 – „Crime Stoppers“ hotline.
