532 Calls to Crime-Stoppers in October

During October 2010, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials received 532 calls to the Crime-Stoppers hotline, out of which 181 were assessed as not serious.

In the aforementioned time period, citizens submitted 68 useful information on committed or planned criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.

The majority of information was related to criminal offences of corruption and abuse of official duty (12), unauthorised sale of narcotic drugs (11) and vehicle-related crime (7).

Out of the total number of useful information, 60 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded to competent B&H police authorities for further processing, and 8 information were related to criminal offences from SIPA competence.

Within the reporting period, 41 pieces of feedback were received from competent police authorities, based on which it was determined that 3 reports on committed criminal offences and perpetrators were submitted to competent Prosecutor's Offices, 2 reports were submitted for assessment, and one violation report was submitted as well.

SIPA’s police officials gave 283 recommendations to the citizens who called 080 020 505 – Crime-Stoppers hotline.
