420 Calls to Crime-Stoppers in April

In April 2011, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) police officials received 420 calls to the Crime-Stoppers hotline, out of which 143 were assessed as not serious.

In the aforementioned time period, citizens submitted 85 useful information on committed or planned criminal offences and their perpetrators, based on which the same number of reports was made.

The majority of information was related to criminal offences of weapons possession and trafficking (11), illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs (9) and abuse of official and other responsible duties (8).

Out of the total number of useful information, 63 of them, along with the reports, were forwarded for further processing to other competent police authorities in B&H, and 22 information were related to criminal offences from SIPA's competence.

Within the reporting period, 47 pieces of feedback were received from competent police authorities, based on which it was determined that two reports on committed criminal offences and perpetrators were submitted to competent Prosecutor's Offices, and three reports were submitted to Prosecutor's Office for assessment.

SIPA's police officials gave 192 recommendations to the citizens who called 080 020 505 – Crime-Stoppers hotline.
