11 Kilos of Explosives Found In Operation Codenamed „Lift“

In the operation codenamed "Lift", police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) have found and temporarily seized 11 kg of explosives of various types and purposes, 29 rifles, 34 guns, 4,771 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, 21 hand grenade, 4.7 kg of gun powder, 123 detonators, 40 caps for hunting rifles, one grenade launcher, one grenade, one fuse for ignition of explosives 100 meters in length and four sticks for ignition of explosives unknown length, 11 silencers and other items.

We remind that yesterday (12/21/2015) SIPA police officials in cooperation with the law enforcement officials of the Ministry of Interior of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton carried out operation codenamed "Lift". In the area of Sarajevo, Mostar and Bugojno six individuals were apprehended due to grounds for suspicion of having committed criminal offence “Organized Crime” in conjunction with the criminal offence “Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment of Dual Use”, and facilities in six locations were searched. These activities were carried out on the orders of the B&H Court and Prosecutor's Office. Federal Administration of Civil Protection provided a special type of support.

Following criminal investigation in the SIPA premises, the apprehended persons were handed over today (12/22/2015) to the B&H Prosecutor’s Office for further proceedings, along with the Report on the Grounds for Suspicion on the Criminal Offence and Perpetrators.
