On September 8th, 2009, police officials of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) and Livno Canton MIO apprehended S.Ž. in Kupres based on grounded suspicion that he committed a criminal offence from Article 172, Item a) "War Crimes Against Prisoners of War" of the Criminal Code of B&H, as a member of the Special Police of the Croatian Republic Herceg-Bosna MIO, Livno Police Administration, in November 1994.

Upon criminal processing at the State Investigation and Protection Agency's premises, S.Ž. will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H, upon whose order the action was carried out.
