Today (17/12/2015), Edin Malkić, a police official of the State Investigation Agency (SIPA), received the Humane Act Award. The award was granted to him at the 5th Assembly of the Red Cross of B&H Federation, which took place in the Hollywood Hotel.

Based on the Ordinance on Recognitions, the Red Cross of the B&H Federation grants Humane Act Award to individuals for their altruistic acts of saving lives in sudden natural disasters or other accidents or preventing more serious consequences for an individual, group or local community as well as for solidarity, bravery and help provided. 

In September this year there was a car accident in Bihać, which could have resulted in a loss of human lives. Edin Malkić, who was in the vicinity of the accident together with his friends, managed to rescue the victims. Malkić pointed out that neither he nor his colleagues rushed to help people because they were police officers, but because it was the duty of every man to help others in trouble.
