Minister of Security of B&H Sadik Ahmetović Visited SIPA

Today, December 22nd 2009, B&H Minister of Security Sadik Ahmetović paid an official visit to the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).

SIPA's Director, Mirko Lujić presented to Minister Ahmetović the way of Agency's functioning as well as the daily problems faced by the Agency.

A special focus was put on the needs for amendment of legal regulations i.e. setting up of legal mechanisms that will facilitate performance of all B&H law enforcement agencies as well as establishment of central harmonisation unit for measurement of effects of police officials’ work.

“Staffing of SIPA currently is around 60%. In addition to the deficiency of staff and the possibilities to employ new resources, staff selection procedure usually lasts longer than half a year, which is impermissible”, said Lujić.

The meeting, attended also by Anđelko Hrgić, Head of SIPA’s Criminal Investigation Department and Mirza Lišinović, Head of SIPA’s Internal Control Department, discussed the necessity of ensuring a permanent accommodation for the Regional offices and Special Support Unit.
